@Mondoweiss The Hannibal Doctrine/Directive? If true, how can a state or an army justify killing its own citizens to deny the enemy the advantage of hostage exchange? The only parallel is Keyser Soze who killed his family in The Usual Suspects. Difference: Soze was a fiction character.
@Mondoweiss Imagine a Hamas leader comes out to the press and says that he commanded Hamas fighters to kill civilians on Oct 7th for being settlers. I bet it will be a tsunami of headlines in the major western media outlets "HAMAS ADMITS KILLING CIVILIANS". But this? They aren't interested.
