In 2022, lawmakers in Louisiana passed a Congressional map with only one majority African American district out of six – even though Black Louisianans make up about a third of the state’s population. Now a federal court has ordered Louisiana to redraw their maps and create a second Black majority district. It’s a victory for our democracy, and should motivate us to keep pushing for equal representation in every state.
@BarackObama @DemRedistrict This victory in Louisiana is a crucial step towards fair representation for all communities. It's a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality in our democracy and it highlights the importance of advocating for diverse voices to be heard in every corner of our nation.
@MolonLabe_21 @BarackObama @DemRedistrict Lololol - since 1843 Louisiana has only elected 10 Republican Governors ... It's overwhelmingly been a blue state in terms of who is elected as Governor. Fair 🙄
@MolonLabe_21 @BarackObama @DemRedistrict Aren't we a republic? It's in the Pledge of Allegiance. Remember that???
@MolonLabe_21 @BarackObama @DemRedistrict We’re a republic. Read the constitution.
@MolonLabe_21 @BarackObama @DemRedistrict Now go to Ca and complain about their gerrymandering! Oh wait that ones ok because it benefitted you 🤣
