Over 1 million marine organisms are killed each year due to plastic pollution in the ocean. It's time to end plastic pollution. There is no planet B. Use less, buy less, waste less. #ActOnClimate #climate #PlasticsTreaty
@MikeHudema When is going to be the manufacturer concern? We buy the products packaged in a material that is harmful to our environment. Shouldn't this be something that corporations are responsible for and not so much the consumer? They control the packaging, we have limited choices.
@MikeHudema Especially buy fewer PV panels and wind turbines which are truly unsustainable and destructive of the natural environment as well as prosperity.
@MikeHudema Marine organisms kill billions of other marine organisms every week.
@MikeHudema You're never going to tackle this problem unless you put a production tax and a recycling credit integrated into the tax code
@MikeHudema Ideals like recycling without this or using things like paper straws and paper bags aren't going to solve the problem
@MikeHudema Yes and manufacturers need to change their packaging. Too much produce is currently packaged in plastic when it could be packaged in paper
@MikeHudema Absolutely! Plastic pollution is a global challenge. #Qatar is addressing this by promoting beach clean-ups and protecting marine life. Efforts similar to those in #NewZealand have seen significant ecological recoveries. It’s crucial for more nations to join these initiatives!
@MikeHudema Go and tell that to the countries that pollute the oceans then and see what response you get from them
@MikeHudema How much hemp did you plant today? Most plastic products can be replaced by hemp. It is also instantly profitable, no need for government funds, just mandate its use.
