“We have to be thinking about summers in the future, too. Just like we have a hurricane preparedness plan every year, we’re going to now need to have an excessive heat plan as well so we are all prepared.” news4jax.com/news/local/202…
@MelissainJax Now, you see those lakes come in handy. Use buses? Transport people from Jax to Lake Kingsley. Actually, there's the ocean at Jax beach & elsewhere close by. Stay cool. Libraries? Great idea. Reading in air conditioning. Keystone? No lakes left. All dried up txs to Camp Blanding.
@MelissainJax Probably not the most environmentally friendly way to cool folks in busses. We should find a way to serve/save people and the environment.
@MelissainJax And the need for the protection of our mature tree canopy along with abundant planting of shade trees for streets, sidewalks and parking lots, which can reduce the surface heat effect by 10-30 degrees as @aroseadam from UNF showed in the heat study.
@MelissainJax The only thing that exceeds our Mayor’s endless supply of energy is her love for our neighbors. I continue to be blown away by the example she is setting. 🙏
@MelissainJax Thank you all for caring, and for the work you're already doing to make life better .
@MelissainJax This city is too wide spread to not have a real transportation system that resident friendly..Has to be a real plan moving forward
