Dear theists, let me get this straight: God can create the universe, raise the dead, and grant believers eternal life, but He won't save children from cancer because He requires a sufficient amount of uncertainty about His existence and master plan in order for faith to be FAITH?
@McClureShawn No. Finite life is not infinite.
@McClureShawn And your money. Don’t forget the important part.
@McClureShawn All total bullshit. It's the world's greatest & longest running scam.
The intellectual dishonesty is amazing, here. "I'm going to pretend I'm a real atheist, and unbiased by using the word 'theists', but the only doctrines I shall attack will be those that only Christianity teaches..." I'm pretty sure I've already answered this question with you before, and you're pretending you never saw the answer, but just in case I'm remembering a different even, let's address it now. God does not play favorites, or he wouldn't be GOD. Sure, everybody, including Christians, think God will make an exception for them, if they pray. This is because Christ said "You do not have, because you do not ask." Christians apply that to everything, and it CAN'T apply to everything. If God cures your little girl's cancer because you asked him to, he has to do the same for EVERYBODY. If God kills your neighbor for screwing your wife, he has to do the same for EVERYBODY. Your grudge against God is that he's not Santa Claus, and you've decided, therefor, that he's not real. When God does make an exception, it's because it aligns with his PURPOSES. HIS PLANS. God may hate that meth-head that's about to crawl through your window and rape and murder you wife and children, but for HISTORY TO HAPPEN the way it is supposed to, it is necessary. Then again, God may allow that window to slip free and cut the meth-head's throat, killing him instantly. Is it because he loves YOU more than he loves the Meth-head? You keep saying "why doesn't god do something about THESE guys, if he's real, they're so much worse than I am!" but God doesn't see it that way. Whether you steal a candy bar or a cadillac, you are still a thief. The whole world is full of people pointing fingers at others and saying "if you're real, God, kill him." If God played by YOUR rules, who would be left, dude? You're dishonest with your own actions, your own words, as proven right here, yet you smugly get to judge God... and don't lie and say "all gods" because you're only talking about the Christian God, and you know it.
@McClureShawn And no matter how much faith they have, he won't answer the prayers of an amputee.
You are thinking of a fairytale deity You are not thinking about What warrants apex reverence" If you are sincerely unaware of "What warrants apex reverence " Ponder the question "What warrants apex reverence?" until what warrants apex reverence becomes more apparent to you. And quit obsessing over fairytales
