Not sure why people are thinking this move is because Sony lacks confidence in Kraven. Christmas release window is traditionally better than September and Beetlejuice 2 would probably draw more theater goers away from Kraven than Sonic 3 and Mufasa will.

@McBDirect The last year has also shown that sequels really can drop off a cliff now even with a hit first film, if interest has been lost in a brand in the intervening just 4+ years. Fury of the Gods, Dial of Destiny, The Marvels, and The Lost Kingdom all made < 40% of their predecessors.

Movies Are Sports Sometimes there are really talented players that fans like with all the skills needed to succeed. But when you put them in the wrong system, they don't reach their potential. It's about building around talent, not forcing them into spots they don't fit.
Marvel NEEDS to give Captain Marvel something interesting to do. I know people like her movies, but I think we can all agree that Marvel needs to be doing better by the Captain Marvel IP. Her looking for the origin of bands sounds so boring and isn't gonna win people over.
