I used 3 gallons of gas to get from the dealer to my house, 60 miles. That’s about $10 in gas. $10 in electricity gets me 600 miles in the Lightning. Why do people still prefer ICE?!?
It does have much more space than our 3-Row Jeep. I only wish that this was sitting on top of the frame, battery, and drivetrain of the Lightning. Just think… The Ford Expedition Thunder.
@Mattlinn01 As an owner of both, I would rather spend the extra money and rip around on my 911 C4 GTS cab when I am in the mood. And EV for quick grocery runs. That’s why.
@Mattlinn01 Maybe if you have solar and charge really slow, or if you're in a very low cost electricity area. As others have noted, driving long distance and charging... Level 3 stations will only barely save versus gas, if at all. And add time. PHEV is the long term evolution for most.
@Mattlinn01 because those cost figures are not representative at all lmao.
@Mattlinn01 I would say that time is one factor when it comes to long trips. Though charging has sped up dramatically, it will always be hamstrung by heat production and dissipation at minimum. When an EV can get me 400 mi, recharge fully in six minutes then get me another 400, I'll be happy
