So far, so good, San Jose. We still have wet weather and high winds to contend with, but thanks to proper preparation — everyone is safe and sound. Thank you to our first responders who went door-to-door last night warning residents about potential floods, evacuating unhoused neighbors from our waterways, and even performing 7 water rescues! We’ll continue to share details as we receive them — make sure to check in on your neighbors and limit travel if you can. @MattMahanSJ @SJFD No one ever comes up to the foothills. Thanks for letting others know about what’s an emergency or warnings. Word travel fasts. Thank you Matt for being on top of everything. Much needed is communication, you have been the lead on that.
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD As a Brit that’s lived here for 15 years every time we have a little weather I am amazed that the Bay Area has such decrepit infrastructure and has such massive power outages. It’s embarrassing and btw the rest of the world laughs at how incapable we are of basics
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD This is a reminder why I want my landline back. It is a safety hazard to not have access to contact anyone. The current system of VOIP “landlines” are not landlines. I shouldn’t have to get in my car w/ power out in stormy weather to locate a signal for my @ATT cell! #Landline
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD Can we focus on the power outages now, though. We’ve been without power in the South Bay for 15+ hours.
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD Interesting choice of words. Just as you post this poles and lines are going down, trees falling. I guess that's good?
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD @MattMahanSJ no power in DT SJ since 9 am tomorrow, @PGE4Me @PGE_SFPeninsula has no updates, no one's even looked at it.
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD Meanwhile 73,000 customers are without power as our power infrastructure continues to be terrible in CA
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD Shoutout to our Fire Department!! So many calls! They’re working OVERTIME! Thank you all @SJFD
@MattMahanSJ @SJFD No power since 3:30pm yesterday and no update! A complete joke!!
