@ilyse_the_beast @freudiana_gamer And yeah... the whole premise is cooked. People will avoid this game now. I would. It's not that interesting to be worth the negative association I have for it now. A parry, riposte with a cut or a thrust game + dagger or buckler (but same drama)... I'm in! But for this? Pass!

The next second I find this is a God of War (what?) game and get these posts about sex and looks. I can't get rid of this topic now. 😔

@MonsieurSansFoy It is indeed for seeking gaps in the armour. But that's the idea, it's a different blade compared to a cut-focused one, be it a sword or a sidesword.

@ilyse_the_beast @freudiana_gamer I am with you, I will reject it mainly due to the swordplay, 3s air time, plus seeing a two-handed version of a spatha from 400AD. I'm not interested in this type of combat. But I hate, HATE, the gaslighting being done... 1/2

Last, it's interesting that they focus so much on the cavalry/infantry separation, before anything else. It shows that in the age of the car, we have lost the importance of this perspective. Indeed, two swords may look the same, but the balance can feel different for cavalry.
Striscia = strip, streak, ribbon... can be used to denote a narrow blade. We even see elsewhere: Spada da Lato a Striscia, so Streak-Sidesword. I would actually like to use this for later sideswords that have a narrower blade optimised for the thrust. Something like this c.1600
Let's see how Italians call swords, compared to how I (English users) would... I'll try to show the pics with the info cards. On the left: Spada da Fante, c.1630 Translation: Infantryman/Infantry Sword On the right: Spada da Cavallo, c.1625-1650 Translation: Horse/Cavalry Sword
