@nicholadrummond And the Texan was purchased as part of a 3 aircraft Fast Jet Training pipeline (and in part, to a budget). If you buy PC-21, you might not need Texan, or even Prefect - you 'could' have a single type fast jet pipeline - EFT, BFT, FJP4 into your front lint type at OCU. But...

@nicholadrummond You're mixing your Hawks. Hawk T1 = Red Arrows. Hawk T2 = Fast Jet Phase 4 trainer at Valley. Different aircraft and the latter couldn't replace the former (not enough of them) unless the training role was backfilled.

@Feeding_Freedom @EversForgeworks Litigation culture... Sell a truck that's not "safe", drivers who get injured sue for millions. Surely you could get around that with everyone signing a disclaimer though ..? Must be a part of price rises. That and inflation, parts costs...

@jedi42c @nicholadrummond Tactical UAS vs. Strategic RPAS. My understanding, RAF didn't want to get down in weeds, AAC weren't interested. As RA did Fwd Obs & had done Air OP, evolving to Phoenix, they WK - just took too long. As others have said, the reqt was changed a lot & there were tech issues

@DavidJoyce17 @nicholadrummond Except they're not operating platforms like WK or Mojave, or any of the Reaper series - it's too contested. The best you could hope for is stand off and use the systems from safe(r) airspace.
