Forgot what root is like when you don't know all the factions inside and out, trying to plan a strategy playing with the knaves, bats, and frogs was such a difficult task. I think I like all the new factions but I dont like them all in the same game, atleast not yet

Just got done following a tutorial for remaking the OG donkey kong. It was a pretty good tutorial, don't recommend it for a beginner. There was a lot of little details that were very easy to miss, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what step I had missed. Still very good!

After starting to follow along to a tutorial for the original donkey kong, I'm honestly shocked that it only took a year to develope back in 1981. This hurts my brain so much. I honestly am so glad I never attempted to remake this without a walkthrough tutorial.

I think even once I get moved on again from follow along tutorials I need to make a habit of watching them, i always learn a new technique. The one I'm on right now just taught me about how to use the "Tile" Draw mode in the sprite renderer and its so cool

I think I've decided im gonna ease back into game dev by living in tutorial hell for a while, I think im gonna remake about 10 arcade games (1 down already) fully following tutorials and then I'll do another 10 without any direct tutorials and see where that gets my confidence
