I think back when we all first read House of X, we all knew deep down the Krakoa era would only be satisfying if it ended with a giant mindless brawl miniseries with footnotes telling you to check out the tie-in issues of Iron Man

@MagnetoRocks The writing was on the wall by then. Those few books were on fire, but with so many minis and such, it was mostly junk by then.
I know everyone is saying the post Hickman era Krakoa stuff didn't feel the same, but as someone who was living through it, the Reign of X wasn't that stellar either. It really felt like a slog/stop gap from their plans shifting. It was a big lull
I both love and hate this. Way to really put a nail in it. The analysis we are going to get on this era of books is going to be fascinating

Weird paradox of the new Ultimate line of comics is that, imo, Spider-Man and X-Men would likely be much better titles set in their own continuities without the baggage of the wider, deeply weird new Ultimate setting-- but that setting is also incredibly enriched by those titles.
@MagnetoRocks It's close to being the worst, because the rest of those are almost harmless. House is trying to be important but it's....just not

#XMen97 discourse today reminds me that I don't get attached to fictional characters the way other people do. Is it frustrating when Jean is dead for 15yrs or Dazzler is a cameo queen? Yes Do I particularly care about feats or who they kiss or obeying their continuity 24/7? Nah
@MagnetoRocks I am assuming any member of X-Force we don't see died in the Sabretooth War, since that happens between X-Force #50 and Fall of the House 😂
@MagnetoRocks It feels like the end of an x-men run rather than the end of an era, and it acts like these have been the focuses the whole time. (Hell, get a set of lead characters from across the books - get Betsy and Dani and Kurt and such- rather than just the big names)
@MagnetoRocks its soooo bad. its so upsetting that hoxpox and hickman originally set up these really cool threads and ideas and concepts and they have barely been touched on. the main line has been ass since inferno wrapped. fox is so bad it feels not at all the original plan
