Für Interessierte ohne Abo einen Auszug aus der relativ langen Besprechung: "Buch über Muslimbrüder warnt vor „Libanonisierung“ der Städte. Die Muslimbruderschaft steht in Österreich wieder verstärkt im Fokus von Politik und Sicherheitsexperten. Ein neues Buch analysiert die Strategien sowie die Stärke der Organisation. (...) Ihre Mitglieder geben sich öffentlich selten zu erkennen. (...)auch in Österreich ist die Bruderschaft aktiv, heißt es im Verfassungsschutzbericht 2025. Es handle sich um „eine der bedeutendsten Bewegungen des legalistischen Islamismus“. Sie wolle auf überwiegend legalem Weg „Einfluss innerhalb der österreichischen muslimischen Gemeinschaft und in politischen Institutionen erlangen“. 2025 wurde ein mutmaßlicher Maulwurf der Muslimbrüder im Staatsschutz enttarnt. Auch im Bundesheer hat man Risiken, die sich etwa durch die Einschleusung von Personen ergeben könnten, im Blick, heißt es aus informierten Kreisen. (...) Religiös motivierter Extremismus und der Politische Islam waren ein Fokusthema im letzten gesamtstaatlichen Lagebild." In diese Gemengelage platzt ein neues Buch (...) Das Risiko, das für Europa von der Muslimbruderschaft ausgeht, ist für die Autoren weder terroristischer noch militärischer Natur. Vielmehr sei die Organisation eine ideologische und kulturelle Bedrohung für Demokratie und Rechtsstaat: „Sie zwingt den Gesellschaften, in denen sie aktiv wird, einen kulturellen und normativen Konflikt, mithin einen Kulturkampf, auf.“ Als langfristiges Generationenprojekt angelegt, wolle sie demokratische Systeme durch legale Mittel transformieren. (...) Nachdem sie in Ägypten staatlichen Repressionen ausgesetzt waren, flohen ihre Mitglieder unter anderem nach Europa, darunter Österreich. In den nächsten Jahrzehnten bauten sie ein Netzwerk an Organisationen auf (...). Heutzutage lassen sich laut dem Buch rund 200 Organisationen in Europa... zurechnen, vielfach werden sie von Katar und Kuwait sowie der Türkei unterstützt. (...) Auch mithilfe dieser Organisationen versuche sich die Gruppe an die Spitze des organisierten Islams zu stellen und als die legitime Repräsentation der Muslime zu gelten. Abschottungstendenzen werden vorangetrieben und der Staat infiltriert. (...) Laut dem Buch führt diese Entwicklung zu einer fortschreitenden "Libanonisierung" urbaner Räume - eine "Fragmentierung der Stadtlandschaft in konkurrierende, normativ divergierende Teilgesellschaften".
