Good first step in $btc and $eth price action, but we are not out of the woods just yet. OBV and momentum have not flipped positive yet with recent price moves. Risk of another retest of lows is still there.

Look at the precision of the signal. Just when Momentum fell below +0.5, it marked the deterioration of the entire structure. The fact that Spot CVD broke down at the same time only made the signal stronger. That is the important lesson: First, momentum breaks. Then, spot demand weakens. Price is the next thing to break. This early signal gives the market time to position accordingly before the breakdown becomes obvious.

Capitulation is a process, not an event. Look at February into early March: → Risk Index at 100 → Selling pressure fully overwhelming structure → Bitcoin in free fall → Profit/Loss bands stretched and stressed for weeks But the bottom did not form immediately. First, Bitcoin started consolidating. Then Risk began to ease. Then the Profit/Loss bands started relaxing. That is when the bottom formation process began. The key point: Capitulation is not simply reaching maximum stress. It is how long Bitcoin remains trapped under stress and selling pressure. The bottom begins when pressure stops expanding.

It is crystal clear: Every time the Risk Index signals that selling pressure is structurally overwhelming the market, what sits underneath is institutional distribution. Observe the pattern: → High Risk expands → ETF flows deteriorate BTC ETFs are still slightly positive in 2026, but the margin is now extremely thin: only +4.5K BTC net YTD. The problem is the reversal. After strong accumulation in March and April, May has flipped back into distribution. That changes the framework. The Risk Index is now moving into high-risk territory while ETF flows are deteriorating simultaneously. That tells us spot ETF demand is no longer absorbing selling pressure effectively. And without strong ETF support underneath, the Risk Index can continue accelerating higher.

And now the warning is flashing. The Risk Index has re-entered high-risk territory. That doesn’t confirm breakdown yet. But it confirms that selling pressure is no longer being fully absorbed. This is exactly why the low-risk regime was so crucial: As long as Risk stayed suppressed, BTC could absorb pressure and sustain expansion. Now the structure may be changing: → Risk has destabilized → BTC lost the $78K–$79K breakeven zone → Sellers are starting to regain control The key now is whether Risk accelerates higher from here, or BTC starts absorbing selling pressure again. If Risk reanchors back below 25, BTC can still stabilize. If high risk expands, this becomes the first solid confirmation that the breakdown warning was the first shot.

Bitcoin has consolidated inside the breakeven battlefield. But now it is walking through a minefield. BTC has taken control of the line that separates bear market continuation from a renewed bullish trend. But one battle won is not conquest. Bitcoin is still in the middle of a transition. The Market Trend model has clearly mapped this shift: → Bottom → Recovery → Consolidation Now BTC is moving between Recovery and Breakdown signals. That usually happens after an expansion phase, when Bitcoin pauses, absorbs pressure, and prepares for the next attack. The key now: Hold this zone to launch another push toward $83K. Otherwise, this consolidation turns into exhaustion.

ETH ETF flows had their strongest month of the year in April. But despite that, ETH ETFs have still distributed more ETH than they have accumulated in 2026 overall: → Net Flow 2026: -324K ETH That reflects the bigger problem behind alts this year: ETH never became a sustained leadership engine. Without ETH strength and traction, most alt rallies fade back into volatility.

ETF holder conviction remains intact. Despite the 2026 correction, BTC Spot ETFs have already recovered 76% of the drawdown from the October 2025 ATH balance. • ATH Balance: 1.362M BTC • 2026 Low: 1.258M BTC • Latest: 1.337M BTC Yes, ETF holders distributed from October to February. But since then, they have resumed accumulation through weakness instead of fully distributing. We are now entering the first stress test for ETF holders inside a bear-cycle environment. So far, the response has been constructive: → ETF balances are rebuilding → Risk Index remains suppressed → BTC reclaimed the major cost-basis zones But the key is what happens next. If ETF balances keep rising while Risk stays low, Bitcoin can sustain expansion through $83K, and later toward $84K–$86K. If ETF accumulation stalls while Risk accelerates higher, the structure becomes vulnerable again. Flows remain the backbone of this recovery.

Altcoins have given a second warning. They are starting to show strength while Bitcoin consolidates. But ETH remains the concern. ETH/BTC is still weak, even as OTHERS/BTC begins to recover. That divergence tells us alts may be front-running a potential rotation, skipping the usual ETH leadership phase. We need to watch ETH closely for signs of reclaimed strength. A healthy rotation usually starts with ETH. Otherwise, this is just altcoin volatility, which can be reversed fast and easily if Bitcoin weakens.

Bitcoin finally moved above $80K. Now the key is consolidation. BTC is capturing both: • True Market Mean • Short-Term Holder Cost Basis So far. These levels usually trigger selling pressure, but between $80K–$87K there is an air gap: • Low on-chain volume • Low trading volume • Limited resistance That means price can move efficiently through this zone. But acceptance requires one thing: Strong demand to absorb selling pressure.

With Bitcoin capturing $80K, alts aren’t recovering yet. They’re just reacting. Large caps continue to underperform BTC, and every rally looks the same: → Quick spike in momentum → Immediate fade Impulse confirms it: Alts have not recovered. They have only seen relief. For momentum ignition, impulse needs to flip and sustain above 25%. If Bitcoin consolidates above $80K, it may only be a matter of time before rotation starts moving into alts.

Bitcoin impulse is reigniting. Every major BTC expansion tends to follow the same sequence: 1 → First ignition 2 → Correction/reset 3 → Second ignition 4 → Exhaustion/deeper correction Right now, BTC is entering another first ignition phase. The strongest moves usually happen during the transition from: reset → reignition → expansion. But there’s also a warning: When impulse overheats too quickly, exhaustion can follow fast. The key now is not just price breaking higher. It’s whether impulse can sustain while BTC consolidates above the cost-basis zone. With BTC already pressing into resistance, a sustained impulse after this reset could trigger a second ignition toward $84K–$86K.

A crucial regime shift is unfolding in Bitcoin. The Market Phase has anchored in BTC. Capital is concentrating in Bitcoin, not rotating outward. That mainly strengthens BTC, but the important part is the timing: This shift is happening just as BTC is starting to break higher, while BTC dominance breaks out of a multi-month range. This is typical of pre-expansion phases. For Bitcoin to lead the market, this structure needs to hold. Otherwise, weakness can return quickly and drag the entire market with it.

One level to rule them all, for bears and bulls. In bull phases, the Short-Term Holder Cost Basis is the point of inflection. In bear phases, it becomes resistance. A year ago, Bitcoin reclaimed it, consolidated, and months later went on to make new all-time highs. In 2022, rejection below it signaled bear market continuation. Looking at Trump's latest post, something's shifting. Tone is completely different from the last 48 hours. No more "no more Mr. Nice Guy," no regime change, no threats on power plants. Instead he's building a comparison with Obama's JCPOA. "My deal will be far better." When a president starts explaining why his deal beats his predecessor's, a deal is usually coming. Notice what's missing. No mention of uranium transfer to the US. No "zero enrichment." No "no money exchanged." All the hard points Iran publicly rejected. He's quietly dropping them without admitting it. Classic Trump pattern, max pressure to get them to the table, then walk back the maximalist positions once they're seated. Same playbook as North Korea 2018, Mexico tariffs, China trade. My read: Trump is already pre-selling the deal that's coming. The fact that he's framing it against JCPOA suggests the final agreement will probably look more like JCPOA than he'll ever admit. Some monitoring, some enrichment limits, probably no physical uranium transfer like he claimed yesterday. Packaged as "the greatest deal in history" for domestic consumption.
