NEWS in Huddle: Rep. Mo Brooks plans to challenge the Electoral College votes when Congress officially certifies Biden’s victory on Jan. 6 ... if he can get a senator to join. He's had "indirect" talks w/ senators about it, but no one has committed yet. politico.com/newsletters/hu…
Of course, even if Brooks joins forces with a senator, congressional Republicans won't actually be able to overturn the results of the election. But Trump's Hill allies can at least cause some mischief on the floor — and turn the whole process into a Trump loyalty test for GOP.
@MZanona Doesn’t this guy know how the Constitution works?
@MZanona @RepMoBrooks who in May of 2018, faced with statistics about rising sea levels… Brooks explained the sea levels were only rising because “rocks were falling into the ocean”. Brooks then went on to claim that the Antarctic ice sheet, which is melting rapidly, was somehow GROWING.
@MZanona Wait, he needs just one GOP senator who is down for some epic (and epically futile) grandstanding? Rand Paul should be all over this then.
@MZanona If this country wants a civil war - let them try this type of corrupt bs. They think the riots are bad ? - someone should let them know - no doubt “they ain’t seen nothing yet”. None of us that voted for Biden will sit quietly for that.
@MZanona It was easy... his guy just needed Mo votes to win. He didn’t get them.
