My name is Lynel. I finished my masters in business management from the UK and couldn't find a job for months. Then a friend on Discord showed me DMs he was getting on X, people offering him $3,000, and that honestly opened my eyes to what was possible. I had zero background in design, not even close, but I just rolled up my sleeves and started learning Figma and Framer, posting on X consistently, and didn't stop for months. Ten months in now and I found some success, not huge but real. I'm genuinely grateful for everyone I admired who followed me back because that kept me going more than anything. It hasn't been smooth though. I have a client who still owes me $6,000 for a project I put a ton of time into, and I can't name them publicly because I'm still hoping to get paid. That whole situation also pulled me away from posting on X for a while which hurt my momentum. Honestly a lot of what I did was random, just figuring things out as I went. But now I want to add structure to my work and my design process because I know that's what's missing. I really need a mentor, someone who can guide me properly instead of me guessing everything. I'd also love financial support with tools like Claude to help with my work, and honestly some financial stability so I can do things like visit my girlfriend. I've built something from nothing. I just want to build it better now.
