RS3 had 250kw in 2011. If anything, this was a response to that.
@Lwanda_ And all wheel drive. Merc was definitely responding with this. It was a great response, too. But you can't start by responding, therefore...
@Lwanda_ Someone can start something but another person can cause it to be recognised. The A45 AMG popularised the hyper hatch segment in ways the RS3 didn’t.
@Lwanda_ GO FOREX Made A45 talk of the town, 2014 - 2017 maaad times everywhere you go it was twaaahla in a forty fizo
@Lwanda_ From a bigger engine. A45 had 265kw from a smaller engine in 2013. No one was thrilled about the RS3, not over the Golf6 GTi/R. I think the G7 had come out also? So really Merc “started” the HOT (super) hatch segment. And have owned it since. Hyper usually refers to ⚡️ assist.
@Lwanda_ If you're going to talk power then YES but the hyper hatch wasn't stated by the RS3. Power means nothing lately, here's the Hyundai i30N modeled to compete with the GTI. It is faster but they hyper hatch between the 2, is definitely the original vrrrpha, the GTI
