I sketched this piece a couple of weeks ago, and since then two more women have been murdered, Natalie McNally and Bruna Fonseca. This time last year the country came to a standstill, shell shocked with grief after the murder of Ashling Murphy.

@tomdoorley The #symphysiotomy scheme indemnified religious congregations against legal action. Payment was conditional on signing the waiver.

@catherineroyuk @RCObsGyn @morris_ep @RaneeThakar Interesting you should raise this, Catherine. The RCOG accredited hospitals in Ireland that were Sites of symphysiotomy for training purposes. The Institute of Obstetricians followed suit from 1976.
