Continuing our conversation on the confusion surrounding brand loyalty in the early 90s, do you recall how frustrating it was to convince your parents to upgrade to SNES and explain why their NES games wouldn't work? (1991)
@LoveRetroBTW Luckily I never had that issue. I was born in 1989 so I don't think my parents would have entertained much an argument from a 2 year old. However, my parents were gamers so they went out and bought it themselves haha
@LoveRetroBTW His comparison to a NES and SNES being like a Cassette player and a CD player is complete trash. A CD is a totally different format than a cassette. A SNES cart is nearly identical to an NES cart board-wise.
@LoveRetroBTW Gotta love marketing videos where you have to use the full name of the product every time. So many uses of “entertainment system”
@LoveRetroBTW I recall years ago when my Nintendo stopped working….I gave my Nintendo to my dad and my mother got me a Super Nintendo as a birthday gift 30 years ago….best gift and Super Nintendo worked without any issues…..
@LoveRetroBTW Short sighted by Nintendo. They should have been pro consumer and had the NES perform on the SNES architecture. It’s not like they were skint!!
@LoveRetroBTW Not like I'm getting an Xbox Series X or PS5 because I'm not, but my wife doesn't understand why I can't just play those games on my Xbox One lol.
@LoveRetroBTW My Dad was into the Atari however and understood at least the NES and SNES
@LoveRetroBTW No. My mom loved playing with us. It was an easy pitch.
