The University of Washington’s Willed Body program accepted Lynne’s donation of her body to teach medical students at Harborview Hospital for two years before they return her ashes to our family. They call donors, ‘teachers.’ She’s still teaching. #alzauthors #caregiver #dementia

Do you really have to sit at home or in a facility? Could you not take them out for a drive, for a latte, to a quiet parking spot to watch people? It’s emotionally painful for our brains to have too little sensory or social stimulation. #dementia bit.ly/44pz8y1
I know my husband and I did this a lot after his mild cognitive impairment diagnosis. I was surprised to find out people looked at us and said the same thing, but it made sense.
We often tend to compare our situation to someone else’s, and say that ours isn’t that bad because someone else’s is worse. It’s still OK to struggle with your situation or feel bad about it. What you are going through is still a lot. #strength #courage #resilience #grit
