The GMC was founded to protect patients from non-drs practising medicine. Now it is to regulate non-drs practising medicine to provide the public with confidence that it is safe. Can anyone make this make sense?
@LittlePersonDoc I can’t Charlie Massey @gmcuk CEO was on @BBCBreakfast saying “GMC is helping public to have confidence in PAs “ Essentially helping Govt’s agenda Not protecting public Public can’t be expected to have “confidence” in PAs if they are imposed on them against their will by deceit
@LittlePersonDoc They should be under the @The_HCPC umbrella just like all non-doctor healthcare roles. @GMC that would clarify matters, give the public confidence and ensure #patientsafety
@LittlePersonDoc @trentconsultant There is no sense, and if there was a second regulator, I would leave immediately!! Couldn’t make it up, registering quacks!
@LittlePersonDoc GMC has become a political organization!
@LittlePersonDoc @gmcuk is not fit for purpose and patients have no confidence that it is protecting our interests because all we see and read is them trying to protect the interests of unwanted ‘Associates’, the pseudo-clinicians being used far beyond sane boundaries so risking patient safety
@LittlePersonDoc Drs will need to step back and say they are following BMA guidelines.Let the trusts deal with fallout.Protect your licences, protect patients.
@LittlePersonDoc I was thinking that when I was watching the interview yesterday.
@LittlePersonDoc Anything makes sense when you’ve been paid off enough.
