Out of control crime in NYC resonated most with people not in the city. Interesting.
@LindseyBoylan Understand, their use of the term “crime” is an intentional attempt to disguise their real fears. When one privileged group treats multiculturalism and equality as criminal threats, they feel victimized. They’re offended by other’s rights to exist and political engagement.
@LindseyBoylan How? Most ppl working in NYC don’t live there
@LindseyBoylan Didn’t the mayor run on out of control crime?
@LindseyBoylan It's a veiled racist message meant to sway white suburban voters. Fact is crime is up across the country. Crime is higher in Red States than Blue. Bail Reform has 0 to do with increase in crime. Dems failed by failing to respond to GOP fear mongering
@LindseyBoylan Immigrant grandad of one of my kid's friends is visiting from NY. He's been a 5 borough resident for decades (including the 70's & 80's) but still said "crime is worse than ever. I don't see it & it's not on local news but I watch FOX & OAN, so I know".
@LindseyBoylan What "out of control crime" are you talking about?
@LindseyBoylan red tough on crime blue soft on crime what's interesting? those politics our whole lives
