I addressed CEDA yesterday, for the Victorian Energy Market Outlook Event. The facts are this – our coal-fired generators are old, and closing. Our once cheap and plentiful sources of fossil gas are now fast declining and increasingly expensive.
That’s why we’re transitioning to 95% renewables – to keep the lights on, and bills down for Victorian businesses and households.
@LilyDAmbrosioMP I think you need to look at how much coal is still in the ground compared to how much we have removed its less than 10% of the total coal so its not going to run out any time soon and if power stations are getting old then why were new ones not built 10 years ago?
@LilyDAmbrosioMP Sounds like you need to lift the Vic ban on gas exploration to solve this decline given how important it will be for transition. Or just rely on other states gas and coal to bail out Victorians? (Not happy up here with you guys demanding Qld’s energy to fix your issues)
@LilyDAmbrosioMP When you close the coal fired power stations, the light will go out
@LilyDAmbrosioMP How come Australia is the world's biggest gas exporter?
@LilyDAmbrosioMP Hey @Mon4Kooyong @SophieScamps will your ministry of truth lock her up for misinformation? Victoria has more gas and coal than it knows what to do with. It’s deliberate vandalism by govt leading to high prices &’increased blackouts @mattjcan @MRobertsQLD @TCS1983 @BenFordham
@LilyDAmbrosioMP Are you being bribed or blackmailed to spew out this rubbish? Whatever the reason, you still don’t have permission to destroy our lives and tell such horrendous lies. You’re a disgrace!
