One of my favorite films. Screened it for a girl I was somewhat seeing back in 2012 and she asked me why in the world I would show her that. We stopped seeing each other shortly after.

I love how much hate this post has generated. Let me double down… one of the best films of the millennium! 😝
@Lilfilm I remember people talking about this one as if it was the most amazing film ever. I watched it and it didn't quite hit me like it did everyone else. But I won't hate on you for liking it, Sean. You've earned my respect simply by the great work you've given us.
Lee Chang-dong's films are some of my favorites too. In fact, back in 2007, my dear friend and colleague (who we sadly lost recently) and I organized the first-ever US retrospective of his work. Quentin Tarantino even generously lent his name to the event. It was magical seeing audiences discover "Oasis" for the first time at LACMA's Bing Theatre. I also had an unforgettable road trip with Director Lee where we discussed cinema for hours. It turned into a particularly long journey because he smoked a lot back then, and we'd have to pull over frequently for breaks. Those memories are truly precious.
@Lilfilm I love this one 🖤 btw, i have seen this a couple times with my wife, and we are still married 😁
@Lilfilm Sean Baker- keep doing what ur doing dude. National treasure imo.
