"Being confident of this very thing... that HE WHO HAS BEGUN a good work in you... WILL COMPLETE IT until the day of Jesus Christ." - Philippians 1:6
We are still a "work in progress". This is what I will do: - let go of the past (forgetting the things which are behind) - look forward (reaching forward that what is ahead) - press on without wavering (keeping eyes on Jesus until I meet Him in person)
The most important thing in life is to know Jesus Christ as one's Savior and to LIVE ENTIRELY FOR HIM. With that goal, everything else pales, and is like rubbish. I will give up everything else if it helps me to have a closer walk with Jesus. God will guide me to know what to do.
After reflecting on life and the world God created, wise King Solomon said: "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: FEAR GOD and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, for this is the duty of all mankind." The hymn writer said it this way: "TRUST and OBEY".
God has made everything beautiful in its time. - Eccles. 3:11
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. - Eccles. 3:1 Implications: 1. we may have to wait for the right timing. [Be PATIENT]. 2. things we have now for a season may not continue. [MAKE THE MOST OF what you have at any point in time].
At the transfiguration of Jesus, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” - Matthew 17:5
Not an easy mission - to be at peace with everyone AND to be holy. Virtually impossible - EXCEPT that God will work out in us what we cannot do ourselves. It will take drawing near to God and yielding to the Holy Spirit continually - which is the essence of true spiritual life.

People often wonder what God's will is for their life. God reveals that bit-by-bit as we seek Him, but He has already given us a place to start in 1 Thess. 5:16-18: - REJOICE always. - PRAY continually - give THANKS in all circumstances Do these; the rest will follow!
When our aim is not to make ourselves look good, but rather, to lift up the name and power of God, we will look at weakness differently. Weaknesses actually work for our good, as they help us to depend more on God and less on ourselves. - John 3:30 "He must increase..."
Isa. 60:20 "Your sun will no longer set, and your moon will not fade; for the Lord will be your everlasting light." Rev. 21:23 "The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb." Our future home!
They fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him... casting their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
The Apostle John was given a vision of heaven. Around the throne of God are four living creatures, each having six wings and covered with eyes all around. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”
We have looked at the Seven Churches of Rev. 2-3. They MIGHT represent periods of church history, but they DEFINITELY picture churches in various states of health. The warnings and blessings are universal for all believers: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says."
The Church at LAODICEA was a lukewarm church; it identified as Christian, but was actually spiritually poor. Jesus calls out: "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock." He is calling all to closer fellowship.
The Church at PHILADELPHIA was given no word of correction; the saints there were commended for their faithfulness. God's reward was to give them a new opportunity (an "open door which no one can shut") and a promise of protection. May we be faithful like them... and so blessed!
The Church at SARDIS was said to be alive, but was virtually dead (Rev 3:1). Yet, there was a remnant who remained true to the faith and their God; these were assured that they would walk with the Lord, clothed in a pure robe (of righteousness) - fitted for their heavenly home.
