This was so much fun! Our PK-5 #scied undergrad class spent the whole month of October hiking, learning/relating to our local forest and investigating how the change of the seasons affected the relationships between trees and animals. Highly recommend it! Also, happy 2023 to all!

We noticed green ferns, purple flowers, and a lot of brown sticks. I wondered why birds might like to live in trees with leaves; my daughter said it was because leaves are cozy. My son wondered whether that sound we heard was an owl; my daughter said it was a dove.

This was so much fun! Our PK-5 #scied undergrad class spent the whole month of October hiking, learning/relating to our local forest and investigating how the change of the seasons affected the relationships between trees and animals. Highly recommend it! Also, happy 2023 to all!

@aebaeder Agree with all @mbraaten’s suggestions! I might add importance of professional national (@NSTA) and state orgs for PD and resources and the Framework for K-12 Science Education from @theNASEM. Maybe also @LearnInPlaces and Robin Wall Kimmerer’s work?
