@Freddnova The virus work differently on each host. She was mid turning (like Bryan at the lab) so I think she was fighting the virus herself and still confused. I’d say she didn’t attack the cop immediately either but he wasn’t as “lucky” as Bryan of course

It’s funny I read it this way: The farmers and their dog got infected in the middle of nowhere (we can discuss why that happened later) so both felt sick, I think the wife saw his husband sick and felt sick herself and tried to go out looking for help (no idea why she didn’t get the truck), when she found someone that could help them that someone hit her with his car, I understood that part as having the lady in mid transformation during her scenes, that’s why she looks more confused than aggressive. Now if they got infected chances are their neighbors got infected as well, many people on the tunnel weren’t on their cars either so they might as well been wandering in the woods The thing is Bryan was limited to walk in the street whereas the monster didn’t care and could use the woods, get on other people’s property along the way, etc to me it was plausible to have found new bodies along its path
