Why do people become more bitter as they get older? Did they make bad choices or does life just get harder?
@LayahHeilpern It’s probably the feeling of being trapped in a life you didn’t want.
@LayahHeilpern Bad choices for the most part. They didn’t accomplish what they wanted to and bitter
@LayahHeilpern People just don’t have the energy to put up with 💩 As I have crossed 50 I find I’m more conservative, have no tolerance for BS, and say what I mean and don’t mince words. Some may call it bitter. I don’t have time to be bitter. I’m trying to be better 💥💯❤️
@LayahHeilpern I would guess it’s about not living in the moment enough. Your teens/20’s are all about enjoying the moment. Your 30’s and 40’s are either about planning for the future (college, retirement, career) or regretting mistakes you made Later on, you go back to being in the moment
@LayahHeilpern They were too busy doing things they "thought" were important. They wok up one day and realized they have no true solo passions. They loved their kids, their work, etc. etc. but now they have nothing to love. You have to cultivate a passion you can do alone, early in life.
@LayahHeilpern Just don’t listen to right wing pundits and propagandists and you’ll be fine.
@LayahHeilpern I know a LOT of people who are more content and comfortable in their skin as they get older. Most of them have an element of spirituality in their lives. Not religion - spirituality. Big difference.
