I truly do not understand how angry and emotional people get when you tell them that their kids are not likely to be kidnapped from their safe neighborhood by strangers and sold for sex tourists. Can someone who is a parent explain this to me?
I feel like every time this comes up and I’m like “oh good news! NCMEC says that you’re ten times more likely to be struck by lighting than kidnapped by a stranger! Guess you don’t need to worry!” the reply is WELL I GUESS I WOULD BELIEVE THIS IF I WAS STUPID
@LauraRbnsn In the last county I lived in they put a stop to all opening new spas bc of this. Half a MILLION kids go missing each year. If you’re a parent, that is always a concern. Concern is a spectrum too - behavior depends on their amygdala’s holding patterns. That is facts.
