New post: The Iowa Senate is debating its AEA overhaul proposal right now. Last night, more than 30 superintendents warned all #ialegis members that major changes to AEAs "will have grave consequences" for their students. bleedingheartland.com/2024/03/18/iow…
@LauraRBelin My Rep Steve Bradley, said all AEAs are on board.
@LauraRBelin Iowa Republicans and our Governor care nothing for Iowa or Iowans just for their outside donors! Shame on them!!!
@LauraRBelin Districts will be sued by parents. Small Iowa schools have been forced to foot the bill for private therapy programs that cost 6 figures in the past. You can expect to see more of these lawsuits without AEA supports and taxpayers will be forced to pay.
@LauraRBelin If the legislature does not follow their lead then they do not follow what the best interest for voters or education.
@LauraRBelin A vote for this nonsense should have major consequences for the legislators. Time to unseat them.
@LauraRBelin And they'll still have the choice to use the AEA of their choosing. Calm down.
@LauraRBelin Pretty stunning that these Admins, who chew up 25% of all educational monies, need a 3rd-party govt-funded entity to do their jobs for them.
@LauraRBelin A solution in search of a (nonexistent) problem.
