Two-Spirit (trans people) predate non-Native settler-invaders and their transphobic religious rhetoric, on this continent, by thousands of years.
Two-Spirit (trans people) were valued members of our community. They were highly respected and played an important role in Lakota society. Like naming babies and settling disputes. They were blessed with the unique ability to perceive the world from two distinct spiritual lenses.
