This is the update I was most excited to release so far.
This week, Cell Culture and Lab Assistant (free iOS App) gets a new update: Sequences (Beta) 🧬
You can now open your plasmid and sequence files in the app: GenBank, FASTA, EMBL, ApE, .dna, and Sanger .ab1 chromatograms.
You can see them as circular or linear maps, with your annotated features.
You can check restriction sites, ORFs, translations, GC content and molecular weight.
You can scroll through a chromatogram base by base, with quality scores.
And you can align a sequencing read to its reference and step through every mismatch.
It is a beta, so some things might not work as intended yet. They will be fixed. 😅
The update will be live this week.
The app stays free, no account, no ads.
If you try it, I would love to hear what works and what does not. There is a feedback button right in the app.
Thank you!

@claudeai Guys come on! I am working on virology, and it still fallbacks to Opus even for super simple questions that you can find the answers literally everywhere. Please!!
🧬 I built a free iOS app for life science researchers.
After years at the bench, I wanted one place for the things that usually end up scattered across notebooks, spreadsheets, calculators, and timers.
So I built Cell Culture & Lab Assistant
A free app for cell culture and molecular biology labs.
For:
🧫 Cell culture tracking
🧪 Molecular biology calculations
📒 Digital lab notebook
⏱ Protocol timers
📦 Inventory & freezer organization
📊 Plate layouts & experiment records
No ads. No subscription. No account. No analytics.
Available on iPhone, iPad, Mac (Apple silicon), and Apple Watch.
I developed this project completely independently, and I’d really like feedback from people who actually work in research.
What feature would make this app more useful for your lab?
What workflow do you still find painful or time-consuming at the bench?
If you work in virology, microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, or biomedical research, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
And if you think a colleague, student, or lab could use it, a repost would help this free app reach more scientists. 🙏
Hi everyone!
I'm a PhD student in virology, and I built a completely free iOS app in my spare time.
I'd love for you to try it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
The link is in my bio.
If you find it useful, a repost would really help more scientists discover it. 📱

@0xDanchi Thanks a lot! 🙌 I built it just for myself initially, so it’s been a fun project. Honestly, the hardest part is getting it in front of researchers who might find it useful. Appreciate the support! 😊
@AnthropicAI and dear @claudeai team,
As a biology researcher, I'm curious: when will Claude Fable 5 become fully available for biology research??
Right now, literally any biology prompts are routed to older models because of the current safeguards.
Is there an estimated timeline for improving access?
