We need to plant many more native trees in urban spaces, and better protect and value existing ones. This helps nature and wildlife. It's #ClimateAction. It reduces floods, pollution and urban heating. And it improves our lives. More: bit.ly/2eMCYds Via @nature_org
@LGSpace @nature_org Couldnt agree more but never seen any new areas of building with enough space around then it's always chock full of as many houses as possible.
@LGSpace @nature_org And we need a small army of trained arboriculturists to help look after them !
@LGSpace @nature_org Planting trees is great but there needs to be much bigger penalties and deterrents to keep greedy developers from cutting down older established trees.
@LGSpace @nature_org Love this. Totally agree.
@LGSpace @nature_org Great to see this page promoting human and wildlife coexistance. Finding the balance is the only sustainable path forward.
@LGSpace @nature_org That's a great idea! Planting native trees in urban spaces provides important habitats for wildlife and helps to improve air quality and reduce the heat island effect. We should certainly do more to protect, value and increase our urban trees.
@LGSpace @nature_org Can someone tell Cheshire East Council how important trees are please. They're about to remove 37 (many mature) trees & only 6 out of over 100 will remain without an impact. The mitigation - plant 27 trees in a different borough without public access or any legal protection! 🤔
