@PicturesFoIder It's been more than 30 years since my last Math class, but I'm pretty sure it is: 8 ÷ 2 (2 + 2) 8 ÷ 2(4) 8 ÷ 2 x 4 4 x 4 = 16 In order to equal 1, the equation would have to be: 8 ÷ (2(2 + 2)) 8 ÷ (2 x 4) 8 ÷ 8 = 1
@Altanon @PicturesFoIder Multiply before you divide. 8 ÷ 2(2+2) or 8 ÷ 2 x (2+2) 8 ÷ 2(4) or 8 ÷ 2 x 4 **multiply then divide** 8 ÷ 8 Answer = 1
@LECKS_ @PicturesFoIder Once you add the 2s, the parenthesis is no longer part of the equation leaving it as 8 ÷ 2 x 4. Left to right, leaves 4 x 4 = 16.
@LECKS_ @Altanon @PicturesFoIder Within a programming language that does implied multiplication, the answer will be 1. Programming languages that don't will throw an error.
