Unpopular opinion: the French conquest of Algeria was entirely morally justified. Algeria was a criminal state that lived off robbing and enslaving Europeans and Americans. The war put an end to its massive slave trade and piracy operation. This is a good thing.

The term “woke Right” is getting some airtime these days, and it’s justified. The same frantic quest for purity through the demonization of scapegoats that’s made the woke Left so intolerable is becoming prevalent again on the Right as well, and Carlson’s one of the most prominent purveyors of it. I don’t know if either side is prepared to throw its wokesters into the trash at this point, but yeah, it’s not exactly comforting to watch the woke Right sinking into the same kind of mental dysfunction many of its members once criticized.
