DWP seizes devastated woman’s £16,000 inheritance because she worked at supermarket while caring for mum buff.ly/49qORii
@LBC Was she committing benefit fraud, then? It's not a victimless crime.
@LBC Do you ever feel like they’re going after the wrong people?
@LBC But MPs on 90K salaries, and how should be serving the people they represent are allowed to serve themselves to a second and third job if the wish. #Democracy
@LBC ....but but but the government, wants you to return to work, not live a life on benefits! #ToryChaos
@LBC So clearly cruel, offensive towards someone with few resources. Remember folks in Cornwall if you die intestate all your assets are given to the monarchy, billionaires with too much.
@LBC It's simple. If she knowingly knew she was receiving more (this would be hard to prove) she pays it back. If the DWP made an error, it's their fault and they stump up the loss. Culpability is key.
@LBC Considering how bent some MPs and their pals are ..they would get far more money going after them
@LBC So how much did she get? CA has always been a pittance so obviously the poor soul had to work to stay alive. Now she's being penalized for it? This country is a disgrace. Rich tax dodgers should be punished, not people living on the breadline. That £16k won't last long.
@LBC The Tories' Universal Credit system is hideous If you want to know why we're currently going through a homelessness crisis, have a look at how many people they're sanctioning, leaving people destitute mirror.co.uk/money/dwp-issu…
