Fuck the player analysis I’m just grateful my baseball team finally has a guy named Kyle.
If Jose Ramirez had struck out in his first PA in the All-Star Game and doubled in his second PA (instead of the vice versa), he would have literally been given the game MVP. Can we not with all this Jose slander?
Andres Gimenez has been worth 1.4 fWAR this season despite his massive BABIP regression. He’s cut down his strikeout rate by 25%, too. He only needs to average 3 fWAR per season to provide value on his contract. He’s doing that. And I think the best is yet to come for him.

The Guardians org has had a lot of success developing power from contact hitters who never seemed likely to do that. Lindor, Brantley, and Ramirez are the three best examples. That took time. Is it possible that’s what they’re hoping for from Brennan, Kwan, Gimenez, etc?

@Kyle_Fortheland If Tanner gets the FB command under control by then, he gets my vote. But like, I get it.
@Kyle_Fortheland I’ve seen a LOT of people say Verlander. I see it from the stuff standpoint. But I think he needs to tunnel that FB/SL better, because he has too big a hump in the SL that doesn’t play off the FB. Also, the changeup has shown to be a better pitch, which Verlander had, too.

They are trying to take contact profiles and add power, yup. The logic is that adding power is considerably easier than adding bat to ball skill, even if still difficult. I’d add Tyler Freeman to this list in a heartbeat if he actually got to hit more than he pinch runs.

@Kyle_Fortheland Gimenez already has shown as much power as Brantley ever did. He's a guy that maybe could surprise and develop even more like a JRam. I think they could be hoping Brennan and/or Kwan become league average power guys but that's probably where they max out (like Brantley)
