H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. @GvnMutula joins Alice Wahome, Cabinet Secretary for Water in Thwake Dam for assessment on the progress of work in the multipurpose dam. Other leaders present include: Senator Daniel Maanzo, Makueni MP Susan Kiamba, area MCA, and several government officials from both the County and National governments.
Mutula expressed confidence that if the issue of non payment is addressed within 7 days as assured by the Cabinet Secretary, then the project stands to be complete by February next year's set deadline. He also asked the main contractor to ensure the locals who had been engaged in constructing the dam before the work was scaled down return to their stations. Wahome on her part assured that the state will ensure the delayed funding is remitted to facilitate the ongoing construction, noting that Gezhouba Group Company (GGC) Limited had already raised a certificate of payment awaiting for funds to be processed.
