On April 18, 1999, the @LAKings played their last regular season game at 3900 West Manchester Boulevard. Jason Blake scored in his NHL debut, and Vladimir Tsyplakov scored the last goal at the Great Western Forum in a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues. #LAKings #GoKingsGo
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR To me it's the best venue on the planet. 16,005 Kings fans capacity! 🙌 I loved the unpredictable boards. How many times was the puck dumped in along the boards and the puck would shoot out in front of the goalie! 😄 I so wanted to see Gretzky march the cup in there...
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR I thought Pavol Dmitra scored the last goal
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR Man, I miss the Forum so much. So many memories of going there for sporting events and concerts in the 80s and 90s. Pretty much sat in every section of the building, including the last row while hitting my head against the ceiling. LOL
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR 4/4/24 - @springsteen concert. Only us older folks remember @LAKings @Lakers played here…
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR Then the next season’s Preseason game where the coaches almost threw down!
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR The Forum Ceiling, That design was extremely popular for Arenas of the late 1960's early 1970's as seen at MSG in NYC, Saint Paul Civic Center (now the site of the Wild's Xcel Arena), Northlands Coliseum in EDM & The Oakland Coliseum Arena aka Oracle.
@Kingstorian @LAKings @LAKingsPR I saw the last (preseason) Kings game at the Forum, which was a wild, fight-filled affair with the Ducks.
