Stacey—I have to tell you that I was a patient in your DPP (diabetes prevention program) as a prediabetic. I was following the plan (including oatmeal for breakfast—even when I was not hungry in the AM, I was told “don’t skip the most important meal…” and to eat 5-6 times a day to keep my metabolism revving…). Yeah, well I was following the DPP and very frustrated by my lack of healing with 100% compliance. So whilst in the program I continued to do my own research on my hormonal health and gratefully discovered the low-carb lifestyle (gasp!!!). I secretly adopted this new LCHF lifestyle and the weight began to drop off quickly. Amazingly, I was now the only one in the DPP losing weight and improving my health markers. Go figure! I kept what I was doing a secret from the RDs running the program. I still wish I had a picture of her jaw hitting the ground when I revealed my secret on the last day of the program… I share my story respectfully to ask you to consider this way of eating for the health of yourself and all who you have the opportunity to instruct. My life has changed drastically because I made the decision to quit all sugar, grains, refined carbs, and seed oils! OATMEAL was destroying my health (among other things like whole wheat bread and pasta). I’ll never have to worry about T2D again! PS: ADA, why did you turn off and hide comments from people like me who have been set free from a life of progressive disease? It doesn’t have to be that way!!!! #SugarFreed #LowCarb #KetoHeals

@KetoChristineMI Great post Christine - 100% constructive and positive, I like it a lot!
@KetoChristineMI Congratulations Christine. I found LCHF lifestyle over 20 years ago, now 60 lbs lighter, and at 81 yo, the best blood numbers ever.
@KetoChristineMI Congratulations! Welcome to the club! You need to talk to youtube.com/@homesteadhow You should be a part of their new movie, #HealingHumanity
First, you look AWESOME! Congrats! Looking at Stacey Krawczyk's education and work history as noted on her Linkedin resume, linkedin.com/in/stacey-kraw…, she was trained in Dietetics and worked for Kellogg's for nearly 8 years. In addition she was a spokesperson for the Grains Food Foundation and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. So even if she isn't a member of the SDA Church, Stacey's nutrition belief are still a reflection of Ellen White's visions and religion. Thus it may be very difficult for Stacey to accept any other paradigm other than the one her food religion is based upon.
