Just a kid taking out the trash—America
@KeneAkers At least 5 cop cars coming to arrest a kid taking out the garbage. I’d say Lansing has budgeted WAY too much money to their police department so to justify wasting taxpayer $$ they keep them pretend busy by sending 10 cops to traumatize young black kids
@KeneAkers @Charlieleduff @karendumas check out Lansing PD hassling and detaining this kid taking out the garbage. But they can’t look into the MSU shooter who was busting caps in his back yard and previously caught with a gun standing by a bike but pled to illegally carrying in a vehicle
One day someone’s PTSD is going to flare up and these cops will get dome checked! It already happened in Texas. My blood is boiling and I’m choked up watching this. Literally having a mild panic attack while watching this. And I know I ain’t the only one that had one every time it happens.
@KeneAkers This is why the force is not respected. Yet ppl think because they have a badge they should be praised. I’m never one to bring up race but they wouldn’t pull this on White 16 yr old Becky!
So it's a nothing Burger. Mistook him for a criminal in the area. Trying to protect and serve, but the "community" has been so traumatized by false narratives, the first reaction is to blow up. Extra PD wasn't for the kid. It was for the feared over-reaction. What was this, 5 minutes of nothing, but almost 11 MM views? Blame the culture, not the PD.
If a description of a person is given to the police regarding an incident isn't the expectation the officers will detain someone who is in the vicinity that matches it? After questioning you determine they are not involved in the incident you release them. In this video it looks like he was detained then released. People should take the opportunity and go on a ride-a-long with their local agency to see what they do while on-duty.
