Elgton Jenkins has incentives in his contract for performance at OT, more specifically at LT. Jenkins signed this deal in late December 2022 - Packers have since drafted zero offensive linemen and moved on from David Bakhtiari. Jenkins is absolutely an option to play OT in 2024
@KenIngalls I doubt it (at least in 2024) because it's hard to find 2 linemen better than Walker right away.
@KenIngalls He's not nearly the player he was pre-injury playing guard, I can't imagine they think he'd play up at LT. Is he an option should injuries strike? Sure? Would you want him starting there as your full-season plan? Doubtful
@KenIngalls Barton, Morgan, Puni, Crum as development. Prosper.
@KenIngalls Did you see Jenkins at RT last yr. No thanks
@KenIngalls Except Jenkins never looked even close to as good as Walker when given the opportunity to play tackle.
@KenIngalls LT Jenkins LG Barton C Tom RG Rhyan RT Walker
@KenIngalls People seem to forget this There are options for OT "break glass in emergency" That's why I keep coming back to focusing on IOL in early rounds, including guys that are G/T versatile like Barton, Morgan, Puni, Coleman...
@KenIngalls Wouldn't this just be more of an incentive for the team to NOT play him at tackle?
@KenIngalls They know he is better at guard. I expect that’s where he plays.
