Quick bumblebee rescue before gym - if you see one on the pavement pls do pick it up so it doesn’t get squished, and put it on an open flower where you can see the centre of the bloom. 🐝
@Kate_Bradbury For me yesterday, it was a couple of Rose chafers I spotted on the pavement in severe danger of being trodden on, quickly moved out of harm's way. Then someone trod on me, instead. 😜
@Kate_Bradbury I picked one up yesterday but part of one of its front legs was missing. I did what you suggest- do you think it could survive?
@Kate_Bradbury @Catfinkle I saved one from my house , let him out the window to the flowers , he started knocking on the window to come back in 🫠
@Kate_Bradbury My daughter is the bee saviour in our house! 🥰🐝
@Kate_Bradbury I'm always spotting them on the pavement! Usually takes me a long time to find an open flower too, so end up walking around with the dog lead in one hand and being very careful with the bee in the other! 🐝🌸
@Kate_Bradbury I did that yesterday and put it on a nearby dandelion flower 💚 🐝
@Kate_Bradbury Do you have any suggestions on how to properly lift them up without startling or aggravating them? Does paper work better than a hand?
@Kate_Bradbury I rescued one at the reservoir the other day - popped him on a dandelion flower. He buzzed!
