@NextGenPlayer So a retail store only takes 25 dollars per sale, but Sony charges 49 for their digital store to 3rd parties? 3rd parties are just going to open their own stores and tell PlayStation to shove it.

@Stealth40k Wouldn't the bigger story here be that only 40% of "active" PS users are dedicated to the platform enough to buy PS Plus? The other 60% can't even be bothered with PS Plus, but surely they'll be buying 80 dollar rentals and a $1200 PS6.....
@mrpyo1 Was just talking to someone about this. You lose the ability to "ship" to retailers which is an easy upfront purchase for them, but you then get to sell GoW for 90 bucks on the only available store and keep all 90 bucks.
@NextGenPlayer They see the ability to release GoW on their own store at full price, vs giving it to GameStop and losing 20 percent of the sale. Then once you dwindle that crowd to using your store, you raise the price to 90, and put it "on sale" for 70 since there is no other option.

@xMBGx Sony should be protecting consoles, every other company will live without consoles. Microsoft is a software company, they WANT people on PC to sell Windows and GamePass. Sony doesn't do software, AI, and purely exists for hardware, and when we dont need a console what do they win
