@resellerrowe Or costs of doing business (as well as market research, sell through rates etc.) that people don't factor in when they try and do this. Just want people to double check stuff and not get suddenly jumpscared by all the other associated costs🙏

@resellerrowe So you have the certificate of resale in your state (some people actually don't when they do reselling) but still the math is +/- within margin of error and you have to keep good books/records because someone somewhere is collecting that tax. My point being is 'hidden' costs

This assumes : - good sell through rate - shipping cost at/under $2.15 - no sales tax - proper shipping materials free - no gas costs Running a more realistic simulation minus sales tax actually puts this closer to $12-13, and that's before all the mentioned above.

@resellerrowe Can you show me what you came up with? This is what I got when I ran it with a sales tax of 9.5% and shipping costs of $8.50. I did put Everything Else as the category (I usually stay within Cards, Collectibles and Toys so wouldn't know if there is a different fee compared)

Reselling should have a more honest lens on it and inbetween all the crazy Pokemon scalper stories, the Goodwill bin warriors and the Whatnot/eBay/Tiktok Live content, it paints an unrealistic picture where half of the content is hopecore and the other half is Temu Worldstar.

It's not to discourage people, provided you aren't being a blight. But it's not as punchy to go "buy this for $31-33 bucks + gas/time, resell for $6-8 bucks profit while it sits and maybe make $100k gross before taxes if you can sell more than current last sold velocity."
