Developers have built thousands of windowless bedrooms in Austin. Now, the city may outlaw them. l8r.it/x8nG
@KUT Commies are titillated at the prospect of packing people into American gulags of their making.
@KUT good
@KUT Horrible. The result of this will be fewer bedrooms and more expensive housing. Banning windowless bedrooms doesn’t fix affordable housing it makes it worse
@KUT How is this even legal? This would not pass Fire Regulations in any other state.
@KUT I thought windowless bedrooms were already against the law?
@KUT you couldn't find a single person to defend this? Here is a free quote "Many zoning regulations effectively require windowless rooms, in order to economically develop the property. Such dwellings are often more affordable and some people actually prefer the lack of windows."
@KUT "Students pay a $15 monthly fee to have a window." IF there are any available.
@KUT West Campus student housing is expensive, then add parking(they want parking Zo),this is an option,it meets code,some students like this option & it allows them to live in close proximity to campus.Where’s the concern on safety & mental wellness just safely traversing the area?
@KUT This is what tenement housing was like, outlawed in most states over a century ago. This is very hazardous!
