I don’t believe this for a second. There’s no way this would have resulted in a 10 year suspension from competitions. At the very most I reckon it would be a fine and potentially even a few games suspension for those involved

Not incredible but an enjoyable cup run. Realistically we’re still behind Argentina, France & Spain and we definitely got lucky in some of the games. Think the officials definitely favoured them tonight but we just couldn’t defend well enough to protect the lead. Onto next season

I’ve just seen that this is the first time in modern World Cup history that a red card for serious foul play has been upgraded for more than a one game suspension. It was a bad tackle but definitely not exceptionally bad to justify a greater punishment
