“You need to start posting inspiring content on SoMe – it’s important for marketing.”
Makes sense, I guess. But every time I try to write something “inspiring,” it just feels off.
It quickly becomes staged and overly polished. Like I’m supposed to come across as perfect – and the company as flawless.
But that’s not reality. And it’s definitely not me.
When I started Xilium, I had this idea that I should share more about what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur – and what it’s like to build something from scratch.
I probably should’ve started from day one… but now it’s much later.
Better today than tomorrow.
Whether anyone will even read this, I don’t know.
Sometimes you just need to get it out – the thoughts, the frustrations, the wins, and everything in between.
Maybe it’ll spark feedback from others in the same boat – or just someone with an opinion.
About 4–5 months ago, we brought in some help to get our marketing in order.
Since then, I’ve been encouraged to post a bit more on X, LinkedIn and other SoMe platforms – ideally something inspiring that could attract the right customers.
Honestly, it’s been a bit outside my comfort zone.
I think I just prefer telling it like it is. So from now on: no more posts with marketing as the main agenda.
I haven’t done a deep dive into every tariff category. But I assume that it's common knowledge that EU tariffs have historically been higher than U.S. tariffs — especially on agriculture and cars.
Sure, some sectors might be very close or irrelevant.
When it comes to Canada, I don’t really agree with how Trump went about it or how the tariffs were distributed.
Fully agree with Elon Musk — a zero-tariff free trade zone between the U.S. and Europe should be the goal.
Trump’s tariffs are not unprovoked. They’re a response to years of higher EU tariffs on U.S. goods. Still, many in Europe act outraged and push for even higher counter-tariffs. That makes no sense.
The EU should rethink its position and take a bold step: unilaterally drop all tariffs on U.S. products. I’m convinced that this would fit into Trump’s master plan, making him consider a reciprocal tariff reduction.
And yes — why stop there? A freedom-of-movement agreement between the U.S. and EU would be a game changer. Trade, innovation, and collaboration thrive when people can move just as freely as goods.
True leadership is about ending escalation and building bridges.
Zero tariffs. Open trade. Free movement. Common sense.
All of these are important and valid points.
Greenland has blocked key mining projects like Kvanefjeld due to political pressure from the left. That’s their democratic choice, but it increases Western dependence on China for critical minerals.
It’s a broader pattern we’ve also seen in Denmark. In 2020, the government banned new oil exploration in the North Sea — despite strict environmental standards. Yet Denmark still imports oil from countries with lower environmental and human rights standards.
This isn’t real climate leadership — it’s outsourcing emissions and responsibility.
If the West wants energy security, green tech, and strategic independence, we need access to resources — developed responsibly.
Meanwhile, China strengthens its control over critical resources. If the West keeps outsourcing everything in the name of climate symbolism, we’re handing Beijing the power to decide our future.
Strong move by Canada. That’s exactly how you break the cycle of tariff escalation: by having the courage to take the first step.
The EU should do the same. Drop all tariffs on U.S. goods to zero. It would send a powerful signal — and I’m convinced the U.S. would respond in kind.
Trade should be about opportunity, not punishment and war rhetoric. Common sense always wins in the long run.
Let’s be honest — Denmark isn’t a military power. We don’t have the capability to defend Greenland or the Arctic region on our own. The U.S. has had a presence there since WWII with Thule Air Base and has been the real security backbone ever since. That’s not a threat — it’s reality.
Military presence? The U.S. already operates in Greenland with Danish approval, and it makes complete sense to expand that presence to secure the Arctic. Denmark should also consider hosting U.S. bases — our geographic position is strategically critical to the US & NATO, and acting like we don’t need help is just naive.
Greenland? It’s been self-governing since 2009 and is moving steadily toward independence. They’re not Danes — and haven’t been, politically, for a while. Yet Denmark still sends billions annually in support. Whether that was a wise decision or not, is deletable.
Should Greenland decide its own future? Of course. And if closer cooperation with the U.S. is in their interest, we should support that. But we also have to be realistic: Greenland can’t defend itself or unlock its full resource potential without major investment and protection — and only one ally is capable of providing both.
As for the idea of “buying” Greenland — realistically, the real interest here is access to natural resources and strategic positioning. But ownership is legally and politically complicated, and maybe outdated thinking. A smarter, forward-looking approach would be to establish a trilateral partnership: Greenland gets a fair share of any resource revenue, Denmark is recognized and compensated for its long-standing support and infrastructure investment, and the U.S. is compensated for ensuring stable defense in the Arctic (and maybe Denmark).
This way, Greenland’s autonomy is respected, Denmark’s decades of commitment are acknowledged, and the U.S. plays a key role in securing a region vital to NATO and global trade. It’s not about control — it’s about cooperation and shared benefit.
Let’s stop the drama and focus on practical, strategic solutions.
