"YIMBYs think you can just change the laws and get a construction boom" is a common criticism that is somehow never then redirected at the laws put in place with the intention of curbing construction
Oh, you think you can just change the laws to reduce apartment construction in your city? Why aren't you mucking up lumber supply chains or having schools push workers out of the construction industry? That's what'll actually prevent new buildings, not simple zoning code changes.

@JosephPolitano this is another place where real life housing work & twitter diverge greatly. LIHTC are a huge curb on construction, yet it's never part of tHe DiScOuRsE, because it feels much harder to change, though it'd have magnitudes higher returns. 🤷
