In Finland, 95% of teachers stay until retirement. They have more planning time, teach less each day compared to the US, and have more local control over what they teach. The focus is on project-based learning instead of testing, which helps foster creativity and critical thinking. Finland's students consistently perform well on international assessments like PISA in high school. Oh and they have been ranked the world's happiest country for seven years in a row. Sadly a lot of what they do now they learned from us in the 1970's.
